The Sea to Sky Bears U15 A1 hockey team has gotten all the way to the gold medal game in provincial playoff competition.
The gold medal game happens tonight, March 23, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. against Port Coquitlam. The usually posts live-viewing updates as the game progresses for those interested in watching.
The U15 A1 squad has had a really strong showing in the playoffs and has four wins and one tie with a goal differential of plus-14 over the five games. They beat the Cranbrook Bucks, 7 to 3, to start but then tied Fort St. John, 2 to 2.
Despite the tie, the Bears topped the Peninsula Eagles, 7 to 3, and then Kelowna, 6 to 3, the day after. Just this morning, they toppled Greater Trail in a shutout, 3 to 0.
Now they will face off against Port Coquitlam, which so far has a perfect five wins to zero ties or losses. They have a plus-25 goal differential heading into the championship game.
The Sea to Sky Bears U18 A1 team earned the bronze medal on March 22, after faltering in the semi-final game. They beat Penticton 7 to 0 to earn the medal.
