ICYMI—Watch: Squamish’s Cassie Sharpe secures bronze medal in Switzerland  ​​

Squamish’s Cassie Sharpe is bringing home a bronze medal from the Engadin 2025 FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships in Switzerland.

In the freeski halfpipe finals on Sunday, held in the resort town of St. Moritz in the Engadin valley, Great Britain’s , 22, won the freeski halfpipe with a score of 93.50 in her second run, according to a news release from the .

China’s Li Fanghui, who is also 22, was a close second, at 93.00, earning her silver. 

Sharpe, 32, earned 88.00 for the bronze, after a 75.75 first run.

In the men’s category, , of New Zealand, earned gold, with 96.00.

U.S. skier Nick Goepper garnered silver at 94.00, while his teammate Alex Ferreira took bronze with 92.50.

For the uninitiated, with the freeski halfpipe, in a U-shaped tube—or halfpipe—athletes do a series of jumps, spins and “grabs,” meaning grabbing or holding their skis.  

The athlete’s runs are judged according to the height, difficulty and execution of the tricks, as well as the overall presentation.
