Polling data suggests of the 15 ridings on Vancouver Island, the СÀ¶ÊÓƵ NDP could retain 10 seats, the СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Greens two seats, and the СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Conservatives at least one seat.

The СÀ¶ÊÓƵ NDP were found to be 5% ahead of the СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Conservatives, but the margin or error in the polling means the election remains a near dead heat.

VANCOUVER — СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Conservatives Leader John Rustad says it will be up to voters to judge his party's candidates as he stood by a pair whose remarks on Indigenous and Muslim people drew condemnation from election rivals and other critics.

The left-leaning candidates mostly played nice at Oct. 9 meeting, although each took swipes at absent Conservative leading the polls
