SEOUL — William Dandjinou collected yet another gold for Canada Sunday at a short-track speedskating World Cup stop in South Korea.

The 23-year-old from Montreal crossed the finish line in the men's 1,000-metre final in one minute 24.548 seconds, 0.193 seconds ahead of Jens van ‘t Wout of the Netherlands. South Korea's Jang Sungwoo came in third.

Florence Brunelle of Trois-Rivières, Que., skated to silver in the women's 500m race, finishing just behind American Kristen Santos-Griswold. Hanne Desmet of Belgium took bronze.

Dandjinou and Brunelle also teamed up with Kim Boutin of Sherbrooke, Que., and Steven Dubois of Lachenaie, Que., earlier on Sunday and captured bronze in the mixed relay.

The team crossed in fourth, 0.477 seconds behind gold medallist South Korea, but were promoted to the podium after the Dutch squad was penalized for an infringement against the Canadians. China took silver in the event.

Dandjinou has won gold in each distance this World Cup season and has seven individual victories to date.

"I am super happy with my results this weekend," he said in a release. "It’s a nice way to close out the World Tour stops in Asia. The conditions are never optimal when we are overseas, but the support of my team helped me perform. I’m happy with the experience, with my personal results and with the results of the team. It’s really a cool feeling.”
