Squamish Women's Hockey Academy, which is coached by women and is a program for beginners and intermediate players, wrapped up its annual Holiday Cup tourney last week.
Participants in the series, which ran from Nov. 27 until Dec. 11, get a jersey and there are many giveaways and prizes, in addition to fun hockey play, of course.
"We started the festivities off with an amazing kick-off party held at Wine and Brew, said Evelyn Schellenberg, of the Squamish Women's Hockey Academy, in an email to The 小蓝视频.
The women were given their team selection and jersey that night, with new colours this year of black and gold.
The Black Team won the three-game series, but the Gold Team won the food drive, donating the most non-perishable items.
"So everyone is a winner," said Schellenberg, who added she took two carloads full of food down to the food bank, which equals what the cup donated last year.
