Three people were taken to hospital after a two-car collision south of Squamish Monday evening, January 9.
Police responded to the call at Britannia Creek Bridge at about 4 p.m., according to a release.
Sea to Sky Squamish RCMP, СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Highway Patrol Squamish, Fire Rescue, СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Ambulance, and Miller Capilano all responded to the incident, the release said.
"One of the passengers was trapped inside a car, and motorists helped until first responders arrived," it said.
"Policed needed to close the highway due to the smashed-up cars and debris. The air ambulance landed in a nearby gravel pit to take a woman with unknown injuries to a lower mainland hospital. The two others involved were taken by ambulance to lower mainland hospitals as well."
The highway has since reopened, though commenters on the Sea to Sky Road Conditions are reporting slow movement due to another small collision.
“This was a collective effort by not only first responders, but folks who were first on scene,” said Cpl. Angela Kermer of the Sea to Sky RCMP, in the release. “We continue following up with our investigation to determine what happened.”
