Safety alert: Canada-wide recall of multiple hair spray products

Immediately stop using the recalled products

Health Canada has recalled a couple of hair products from the marketplace due to improper labelling.

Canadians should check their cabinets if they suspect they have used or own the Sachajuan Hairspray Light and Flexible or the Cantu Shea Butter Oil Sheen Deep Conditioning Spray, according to two consumer recall notifications posted Thursday, July 13.

The affected batches include the Sachajuan Hairspray Light and Flexible with the UPC: 7 350016 331074 and the lot code: 40309204401.

As of June 30, there have been no reported injuries associated with the use of the recalled hairspray product. Between April 2019 and May 2023, 1,796 of the units were sold in Canada.

For the Cantu Shea Butter Oil Sheen Deep Conditioning Spray, the affected batches have the UPC: 817513015014, the lot code: 22225 E05, and the model number 07501-12/3NEUS.

As of July 7, there were no reports of injuries associated with the use of the conditioning spray product. Between April and May, 664 of the units were sold in Canada.

Sachajuan's products are available online as well as at nearly two dozen British Columbia salons.
