See Pearl鈥檚 Value & Vintage's impactful April window display

'The focus is on highlighting our Sexual Assault Support program in a new way'

Pearl鈥檚 Value & Vintage is highlighting Sexual Assault Awareness Month with its current window display.

The popular store is a non-profit, with 100% of its thrift store proceeds going to supporting PearlSpace鈥檚 programs.

These programs support survivors of gender based violence and their children in the Sea to Sky Corridor.

鈥淭o bring awareness and information, Pearl鈥檚 Value & Vintage and PearlSpace proper are proud to bring you this new window display for the month of April,鈥 the store said on its social media.

鈥淭he focus is on highlighting our Sexual Assault Support program in a new way, via in-house zine art.鈥

A zine is a pamphlet or magazine-like publication produced in small, specialized batches.

Whistler program manager, Eliza McCullough, illustrated the zine, which tells a story of a survivor of sexual assault accessing support via PearlSpace.

Pearl鈥檚 operations co-ordinator Valerie Nagy contributed creative support and hand lettering to the zine, and PearlSpace sexual assault response and prevention co-ordinator Shannon Cooley helped with editing and representation.

鈥淎 true cross-program creative effort, the three worked together to translate the zine into the window display that you can now view out front of the store,鈥 the post reads.

鈥淒on鈥檛 forget to pick up a free copy of our zine at the counter in Pearl鈥檚 or PearlSpace Drop-In Centres in Squamish and Whistler! We also have swag available, including alert whistles, teal ribbons, stickers and magnets. Safety first!鈥

Pearl鈥檚 Value & Vintage is at 38130 Cleveland Ave.
