A Squamish photographer has captured rays of sun hitting the popular hiking spot. Thinking of making the climb? AdventureSmart has some tips.

Squamish photographer Robert Davidson Keir captured these stunning photos of the sun hitting the Stawamus Chief on May 2, calling it "light love."

"Crazy beautiful place we live in," he said.

Indeed.

Of course, the 700-metre high Stamamus Chief can be deceptively beautiful. Recreationists can find themselves in trouble hiking it — resulting in frequent calls to  for help.
