The late Larry Banting.

Larry was born in Sudbury, Ontario, on June 10th, 1942, to Arthur and Isabelle Banting.  He passed away peacefully with his wife, Rosie, by his side at Hilltop House, Squamish, 小蓝视频, on July 1st, 2023.

Larry attended Lakehead College and Ryerson College. Larry married Sue (1965-1990) and lived with her in Oakville and Burlington, Ontario, where they had two sons, Rodney(1968) and Jarrod(1971).  Larry started his own business, Banting Construction, which his son Jarrod took over in 2011.

Larry later met and married Rosie in 2004.  They lived in Oakville, Ontario, together until 2018, when they moved to Squamish, British Columbia.
They shared many happy years with Jarrod (Angie), Duncan (Robyn) Emily (Matthew) and their grandchildren Grant, Jayden, Julia, Waverly, Wynnie, Douglas and Artie.

Larry was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.  He was very social, and even when speech failed him, he would greet others with a smile.  He was always quick to find a shared laugh with friends, family and anyone who crossed his path.

Larry was very proud of his great uncle, Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin.  And Larry had his own professional accomplishments to be proud of.  He built a beautiful cottage on an island in Georgian Bay with the help of Rodney, Jarrod, Anne-Marie, Tom, Brianne, Jessica and friend Bill Marshall.
It was a source of great pleasure to family and friends for many years.
Larry loved to travel and enjoy the outdoors.

He spent many years visiting with his brother Robert(Jean), his sister Anne-Marie (Bob) and his nieces and nephews, Jeff, Laura, Ally, Brianne, Jessica and their children. He enjoyed nature walks in Squamish and coastal walks in the UK with Rosie and her family.  Over the years, Larry gathered with his cousins Paul, Lyn and Angie and close friends Ken Murray and Sue Lindstrom, among others, for adventures and fun.

Larry will be remembered for his kindness, great sense of humour and unforgettable laugh.

Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Hilltop House, 3Dr. Siemens, Patricia King, Bridie, Jen, Jas and Crystal, who helped care for Larry in recent years.
A celebration of life will be held at Squamish United Church at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23rd.
