According to Whistler Search and Rescue (WSAR), 50-plus personnel are heading out for today's search.
On Friday evening, WSAR shared a new developed with help from the Resort Municipality of Whistler to aid in the ongoing search.
Using the tool, Alpine residents are able to report their property as searched, with the data automatically uploaded to the general search-and-rescue topo map.
"If you reside in Alpine and can confirm your property has been searched for Robert McKean, please follow for search confirmation," WSAR said in a Facebook post.
Info posted using the tool is not publicly available, WSAR noted.
Meanwhile, police are still looking to speak with any potential witnesses.
"The Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP would urgently like to speak with anyone who was near the top of Alpine Way on the morning of Oct. 9, between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon that may have seen Mr. McKean or his dog, Lexi," police said in a release on Friday, Oct. 13.
McKean went missing the morning of Oct. 9, while walking his dog. He was last seen at about 10:30 a.m. in the 8600 block of Forest Ridge Drive in Alpine. He was wearing a green jacket, blue jeans, a baseball cap and a blue Canucks hoodie. His dog is a white/ginger Cavalier Spaniel named Lexi.

Update—2:45 p.m., Friday, Oct. 13: Police say they are still looking for witnesses in the case of missing Whistler senior Robert McKean.
"The search for Mr. McKean continues with approximately 40 search and rescue members, from multiple teams across the province, fire services, police dog services and helicopters," said Cst. Katrina Boehmer, in a release on Friday afternoon, Oct. 13.
"The Sea to Sky Whistler RCMP would urgently like to speak with anyone who was near the top of Alpine Way on the morning of Oct. 9, between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon that may have seen Mr. McKean or his dog, Lexi."

Updated—12 p.m., Friday, Oct. 13: Police have spoken with a pair of dog walkers spotted on a security camera the morning of Oct. 9, and are now seeking another witness.
The man was spotted on camera riding his bike near the top of Alpine Way the morning of Oct. 9—around the same time and area McKean was last seen.

Friday, Oct. 13 update: The Whistler RCMP and Whistler Search and Rescue are hoping to speak with a pair of potential witnesses in the search for missing senior Robert McKean.
According to a from Whistler Search and Rescue, the pair of dog walkers was captured on a security camera near the top of Alpine Way the morning of Oct. 9—the same time and area McKean was last seen.
Anyone with info on the pair is asked to contact WSAR directly via DM.

Update: The search for missing Whistler senior Robert McKean continues Thursday morning, according to police.
Police are asking residents to check backyards, sheds, and camera systems, particularly in Alpine, for any video from the last few days that might show McKean.

Update: The search for a missing Whistler senior continues today, according to the Whistler RCMP.
Robert McKean, 80, was last seen Oct. 9 at about 10:30 a.m. at the top of Alpine Way, police said in a release.
"Whistler SAR, Sea to Sky - Whistler RCMP, IPDS and Whistler Fire Services searched into the night yesterday and will continue the search today alongside Squamish and Pemberton SAR teams," police said in an update on Oct. 10. "Police are requesting the public allow SAR teams to conduct a thorough search of the Upper Alpine neighbourhood today and the public to focus their efforts on the area of the Emerald Forest."
Public searches can be forwarded to the Whistler SAR via email at [email protected]. The focus should be on Emerald Forest and tips are as follows:
- Catholic Church to Emerald Forest to the west side of the road
- Be prepared for the elements with rain in the forecast today
- Wet weather gear, charged phone, and supplies
- Don't search alone
- No check in point will be in the area so please call if you see anything

The Whistler RCMP are asking for the public's help in finding a missing senior.
Robert McKean, 80, was last seen Oct. 9 at about 10:30 a.m. in the 8600 block of Forest Ridge Drive in Alpine, police said in a release.
