A 小蓝视频 woman and child are dead after a six-vehicle collision on Highway 1.
小蓝视频 Highway Patrol (小蓝视频HP) confirmed Wednesday a second child was injured in the same vehicle and was transported to hospital with serious injuries. They are expected to survive.
Ten people were involved in the collision; no other serious injuries were reported.
Investigators believe one or more vehicles stopped abruptly due to an obstruction in the roadway.
“At least one vehicle failed to stop in time and caused a chain reaction of collisions. Impairment is not believed to be a factor,” says Cpl. Melissa Jongema.
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service is working closely with 小蓝视频HP investigators to identify all factors that led to the fatalities.
Anyone with dash camera footage or who witnessed the crash is asked to contact 小蓝视频 Highway Patrol at 604-702-4039.
