СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Ferries is converting about 300 single-user washrooms in terminals and on most of its vessels into all-gender bathrooms with free menstrual products.
Braille signs will also be installed on all the company’s washrooms to increase accessibility.
“СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Ferries has now officially joined United Way СÀ¶ÊÓƵ’s Period Promise, which aligns with our commitment to expand the availability of no-cost menstrual products aboard our vessels and at our terminals, including now in all our all-gender washrooms,” said Lindsay Mathews, СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Ferries vice president of public affairs and marketing.
The United Way promotes making available free menstrual products.
Michael McKnight, president of United Way СÀ¶ÊÓƵ, said СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Ferries is setting an example of corporate responsibility.
Work on converting about 300 public and employee washrooms will be complete by year’s end, the company said.
