Howe Sound region sees a decrease in COVID-19 cases from last week

From Nov. 28 to Dec. 4, there were 40 COVID-19 cases.

About 9% of kids in the Howe Sound region have received their first dose of pediatric vaccine.
After a slight blip, COVID-19 cases seem to be trending back down in the Howe Sound area. 

According to data from the 小蓝视频 Centre for Disease Control, from Nov. 28 to Dec. 4, there were 40 COVID-19 cases in our region. That is down from Nov. 21 to 27, when there were of COVID-19 in the . 

Nov. 14 to 20th, there were 28 cases. 

From January 2020 to November 2021, there have been of COVID-19 in the region.

Vaccine coverage

Of those eligible over 12 years old in Howe Sound, 98% have received their first dose, while 93% have received a second dose and 8% have received a third dose. 

As of Dec. 7, 9% of those five to 11 years old have received their first dose.

School exposures

lists two independent schools with potential exposures. 

Squamish Waldorf School had potential exposures on Nov. 15 to 18, and Nov. 23 to 25.

Skyridge Montessori School had potential exposures between Nov. 8 to 10, and Nov. 22 to 23.

This does not mean there were no potential exposures at other schools. The only potential vulnerabilities listed by the health authority are those where there is an increased risk of ongoing transmission of COVID-19 to groups the students or staff were a part of, for example, others in the class.
