If you get your electricity from Fortis小蓝视频, your bill will be going up in 2022.
The utility got approval from the 小蓝视频 Utilities Commission to install a 3.47% general rate increase for its customers, effective Jan. 1. The average residential customer’s bill will increase by about $5.36 per month.
“We strive to operate efficiently and keep rates as low as possible, while still making the necessary system improvements and long-term investments that ensure our customers will always have the power they need, when they need it,” Fortis小蓝视频 regulatory affairs vice-president Diane Roy said in a press release.
“小蓝视频’s hydroelectricity is a key enabler of the province’s Clean小蓝视频 Roadmap, and maintaining and improving our electric system helps make this possible.”
The end of 2022 will mark the end of the two-tier residential rate system, which is being phased out over three years. A single rate will be implemented in 2023.
